After receiving the automated call early in the morning, and my husband called back, we became suspicious when they threatened jail time for $6000 in back taxes (a ridiculous # to cite). We called the FBI who referred us to the IRS. There is a website set up to report: www.treasury.gov/tigta/contact_report_scam.sthml. Also called our local police department. I hope they jail these creeps for a long time

Got call saying I owe money to IRS from 2007 thru 2012 is a scam not to b believed they send letters out. Had me freaking out for about two hrs though don't believe this nonsense

This is the 2nd time in a month I have received an automated and somewhat threatening recorded message from this number with the name of Julie Smith claiming to be with the IRS and further action would be taken if I did not respond. I know it's a scam but would like to have something done to stop this harassment.

It's the same scammer who has been calling from a 202 number. The IRS doesn't call; they send letters, because they want a paper trail for court. Ignore this. Scam. Scam. Scam.

recieved 2 calls today, an automated women's voice saying the shes from the internal revenue service, repeating a this hotline number and to not disregard the message... Excuse me? What message?
