It was a scam phone number. I received a text message from this number and it was a definite scam. I tried to call the number back and it just beeped.

Have received calls on my cell for days with this or similar numbers. When I picked up today, the caller spoke quickly and I couldn't hear his identifying information he gave before asking if I could hear him clearly. I could not, and when I said I could not hear him and asked him to repeat his identification, we were disconnected. When I pressed redial (2x), I get an error message that my call cannot be completed at this time and to please try again.

I also have received 3 calls citing this telephone number using the same robotic comment mentioned before. After blocking the caller's number they used a "restricted" to get through.

Received call spoofing Social Security number requesting that I call back. The message, in a digital robot voice, says "We have found many suspicious activities on your social. Before we go ahead and suspend your number kindly call us back on our number which is 224-265-4744. I repeat it 224-265-4744. Thank you and goodbye."

Called church claiming to be a Jewish Christian, asking for money for a bus ticket and a meal. Story about being in the hospital and having no money left after spending it on an Amtrak ride and buses. Turned down McDonalds, but suggested a Casino or buffet.

sounds like a call center in the back ground. The caller says nothing but sits there for a minute before hanging up. I have received LOTS of calls from 224-206-**** with the last four numbers varying. Each time I block them and they call from another variation of that area code and pre-fix.

The number 224-444-0000 calls my cell phone. I answered once & asked who it was. A startled woman with a thick accent claimed to be Amy calling from the U.S. Government Department of ââ¬Â¦Ã¢â¬Â¦Ã¢â¬Â¦ & hung up. If you see this number, don't answer. The government would not contact you in this manner.

Spam called my phone. finally answered, and it was an Indian accented IRS agent. Kept him on the line for 2.5 hrs straight. Fraud call delay lvl: Epic.

Caller called from 224-643-5308, I don't answer calls that I don't recognize the number. If it's important they will leave a voice message this caller did not. I blocked this number now

Same message saying IRS issue. Called back and asked person's name. She gave it to me, but I couldn't understand her. She said she was with IRS investigation unit. I asked her where her office was located. She hung up.

Ditto got the same call. I called them back out of interest and they told me there was an error in my tax returns from 2010-2015, but could not tell me what and wanted me to pay them $2700.

I just got the call and called them back asking if it was a scam. The woman I was talking to promptly hung up. I feel bad for older people who may not realize this is a scam & comply with their requests or give them all of their personal information!

Recorded message advising IRS is filing a lawsuit against me and to call the number back. I called the number from my work phone and a man with a heavy accent answered with some bogus company name. I reported it on the IRS website

Said it was the final notice and IRS is suing me. Number is from Waukegan area . I am in Evanston area. Are other people who are getting this call in the same area? Pretty sure this is bogus since I have gotten no previous calls and nothing in the mail.
