Initial phone number was a Cellphone number: they left a voicemail stating it was connected to the court system of my county, with that being said they gave me the phone number in question 866-506-0130. The voice message also stated case number; at this point I still was not sure who or what had a case against me.
I called the 866# the lady that answered, the only information she wanted was the so called case # left in the voicemail...now to the really fishy part, I was connected to a male who didn't reveal his name or who he worked for, all he wanted was the case #. He made numerous mistakes and all the mistakes lead me to believe that this was involving something from 20 some years earlier involving Capital One. #1 he started using a married name I used to have back then #2 the amount I supposedly owed he started saying $600, then quickly changed it to $6000. He would not give me any more details except if I don't pay up I would have to go to court.
The time I was discussing this matter I hadn't had anything to eat yet my brain was tired, so now as I type this I realized that the only Capital One I was dealing with I was looking at the paperwork and the amount was well under the $6000 mark, not to mention I went through Bankruptcy a little over ten years ago which cleared up anything back in the time frame. I told the guy I needed to call back and why he said I must call him back tomorrow, I asked who do I ask for? Still no name given he said the call would go straight to him and he would get the call directly. Keep in mind the number is the 866# in question. He was threatening me with court action if I don't make a payment by tomorrow which is now today. Something fishy is going on when they won't give me their contact information. I might add the initial # that called and left a voicemail was 970-440-3053.
