I received a call from this number at 1:08pm Jan 17/2018. The caller's voice is female and sounded like a recording. It said it is calling from Revenue Canada
and I should call them right away or a lawyer will be on me immediately and I will be in trouble.
Firstly I do not think Revenue Canada would call me on the phone and secondly, I do not owe the agency any
I have heard that a great many people have taken by these people. I do hope this information will help someone and also that the phone company will do something about this.

La deuxième fois que j'ai eu ce message la semaine dernière. Certainement l'escroc de l'ARC. Il y a quelques mois, la même voix et l'accent, un message légèrement différent s'identifiant comme étant de Revenu Canada concernant une facture fiscale impayée. J'avais 15 minutes pour moi-même ou mon avocat pour les rappeler alors que la police était sur le point de m'arrêter. Si moi ou mon avocat ne les ai pas contactés, alors bonne chance avec ce qui allait m'arriver. Même en sachant que c'est une arnaque, c'est un peu effrayant d'avoir l'appel quand même. Inutile de dire que je n'ai pas rappelé et la police ne s'est pas présentée àma porte.

I received a similar call/recording on November 8. The caller/message identified himself/itself as the office of Michael Anderson from the Canada Revenue Agency with phone number 613-689-9882 and threatened a pending law suit and pending arrest warrant. Needless to say that this is a fraud. When the phone number is traced back is reveals a location in Belleville, Ontario, which appears to be a local landline. Police action should take place.

I got the same recorded message.
They told me that I would be arrested and sued on behalf of Canada revenue if I don't call back immediately. I believe this is some sort of spam number.

I have received several recent calls from this number two yesterday, May 15th and three today May 16th. All calls have been identified as being one, RCMP officer, Ryan Smith calling on behalf of the CRA (Canada Revenue Agency). Obviously a scam. There have been recent news reports from local police and the RCMP raising awareness that these calls are just that a SCAM. I hope you can do something to contact this company to see that this unethical behaviour stops. I will be notifying my local police and the RCMP as well as this notification.

This is going on all over Canada (maybe the U.S. too). What an idiot, CRA doesn't call people to let them in on any ongoing investigation or "debts" owing. They indulge in far more successful tactics. I should know, I retired from The Feds 3 years ago after 30 long years in this division. No surprise that when attempting to call this number back now, you'll get a rapid busy signal AND if you listen closely should this idiot have left the voice mail message, you can hear in the background, many others calling people like you and I. The big tipoff many months ago when this all started, was when they were advising one could pay their (supposed) debt(s) with Walmart, ITune, Visa etc. gift cards. WOW, you mean that useless card you got from a lady's clothing store last year at Christmas but you're a man and don't wear such things nor do you have someone you can give it to? Oh well, the Feds need clothes so send it to them and your debt will be square. P.S. every so often someone will get the "we'll have a rep. in your neighbourhood tomorrow between 1 & 3..." Really, which neighbourhood is that, my Manitoba landline type phone number rings in Victoria B.C. (where we live now and still have properties in Winnipeg) but this number can be bounced around to anywhere I desire). These clowns need to go back to their orientation class(es) and learn how debt collectors and relevant governments and their respective agencies operate because they've missed the boat on these attempts at scams

I also got the same message from Alan Moore who has a foreign accent. I called them back, and after refusing to give my name, I accused them of scamming and they disconnected. Possibly a robocall because of verbatim message?
