this was a second call within several minutes today (5/31/2017). They wanted to access my computer and upgrade an antivirus software they said I had bought several years ago. When I said I was not interested, they said my computer would lock up within a half hour. I was in a panic and didn't know what to do, so I called Trend MIcro and told them my story. The Tech asked if I had been downloading anti-virus updates; I said I think they are downloading automatically. The tech checked all installations and discovered several versions of a virus that takes accounts, passwords, credit card numbers, etc.. etc. The tech said the virus prevented antivirus updates. He cleaned all my files and said I should be all right. It cost me $150.
