The caller ID was described as Wireless JM (Jamaica?) and the guy claimed to be from the FTC. But then he started asking about Publisher's Clearing House, and he got sort of snarky and hostile. I hung up on him. Creepy.

The answering machine picked up the call. The caller said that I had won 3.5 million in the Publishers Clearing House Sweepstakes.

First, I got a caller from a private number. The guy, obviously foreign, ended every sentence with "okay?" I asked him if he were in Jamaica, but he said he was from Las Vegas.
I decided to play along, just out of curiosity. He proceeded to tell me his name was James Nelson, and he was calling from PCH. I'd won 5,5 million dollars! I told him I wasn't going to give him any personal information.
He asked me to write down some numbers, an ID Code, etc. Then he told me I'd need to go to the post office and mail a tax amount of $69, but the 5.5 million was tax free. (Yeah, right.)
As soon as he mentioned me sending $69, (but he guaranteed I'd get it back), I told him "It's been fun, James, but I'm done."
As soon as I hung up, the phone rang again. This time the Caller ID said Mandeville, JM, (876-783-6952) and it was James again. Before he could say too much, I said, "James, give it up. I'm not falling for this scam."

BS about having won a contest we never entered because we paid our utility bill on time - which became paying that bill on time, and shopping at local grocery stores. We "won" a "new 2018 Mercedes," meaning it was two years old, and 2.5 million.
They paid "90% of the tax," but we had to pay the other 10%.
Another chiseling tool from a Third World cesspool - which is what I told him.

SNL "Rasta Gourmet" wannabe (Gimme Ganja!) with poor English skills pretending to be Publishers Clearing House. He knew - or maybe just guessed the first name of our employee, but not the last. Promptly hung up when pressed for more complete info. SCAM!

caller from this number claim to be the supervisor of a company (couldn't make out the name), and was ready to offer me $3.5 million. He claimed I was supposed to have recv'd a letter with a confirmation code. He also claimed to be located in California. He called me on Sunday and called back on Monday. Apparently I'm supposed to buy some sort of "card" which will facilitate the interstate transfer of funds. He said he would call back again today (Monday 8/26/2019).

Caller said he was calling from UPS and was asking if somebody would be available at 3:30 pm to pick up an unclaimed package. Called several time, repeatedly. I blocked the number.

Someone has to do something about these calls we get! Why do they think we are stupid enough to fall for something like we have won 1.5 million but send them 599.00 Dollars first. You just want get of them. He said he was calling from New York, and I asked why does my phone say Kingston Jamaica??? The American government needs to cut them off. I prefer the old days when the phone rang for a reason and was usually The Doctor or someone important. My land line is for family living in Europe and Canada not for rip artists living in Caribbean!!!!
