Some man with a heavy accent called me about my package was supposed to be delivered today. I told him I don't know about any package and he asked me if Bank of America had contacted me about it and I said no that all I had gotten was calls from someone claiming to work in the Consumer Affairs Division of the Federal Trade Commission (which I checked on and found it was false) and also checked the company he told me t contact and found it was also a scam place.
Supposedly I had magically won a prize of $450,000 from Publisher's Clearing House and this award place would be sending it to me in the form of a certified check from Bank of America. All I had to do was pay a fee of $995 (supposedly required by the State of Texas) for insurance on the delivery in case the courier service lost the package; that it would be refunded to me after delivery. WHAT A SCAM!
Now the phone calls keep coming and there are all a scam. I have complained to the FTC about them and all I can do is tell them to quit calling.
