Comments

I got a spoofed email from someone's name I know asking for my personal cell number. I then received a text message, asking me to acknowledge that I received it. At that point, I knew it was a scam because the number was not one that belonged to the person I knew. So I figured I'd play along to see what type of scam it was. The next text was:

"1/2 I need some gift cards to send out. Either Steam Wallet, eBay, Sephora, Hotels.com, Foot Locker, App Store, Forever 21, or Walmart gift cards. Can you
2/2 head to a store now? Let me know so I can tell you what to do"

I responded: "Ok. Give me your credit card number."
