I went online to get tech support regarding a Asus Router. After chatting with a representative they took my phone # and said a agent would call to advise me regarding my problem. The phone rang and I thought it was the tech support. He said he was the support person. I started getting another call immediately. And the rep I had been texting with said their Tech Support was unable to reach me. I said I was talking to their tech support. After turning my computer over for remote help, the session went on and on with what I was feeling was irrelevant to my problem. The person with the remote on my computer gave me another phone # to call for further help and said he was putting me on hold for two minutes and to not hang up. While waiting I looked up the # I was given and it came up as "unwanted phone calls", I immediately knew I had been scammed. I shut down my computer. I called the number this am. No Answer. I called the other number and it was the legit tech support who also told me I had been scammed. I took my computer to Geek Squad to take care of the problem.
