I received a call from 1-817-789-6273. They said they were Microsoft and they were going to take out some money from my bank account if I didn't phone them right back. Checked the number here on this website and it said it was from Toronto. Good thing I checked this website. The recording is the same voice who says this is the CRA and you better phone us because you owe us money

Caller or Company: They said Microsoft
Caller Type: Tech Support Scam

I have had several calls from this number. I have also repeatedly asked to be taken off their lists. One time I asked them what credit card company they worked for. They said Visa. Then I asked why this "wonderful offer" wasn't included as an insert in my credit card statement. They had no answer. The whole thing is a lie and I know this because I used to collect for a credit card company and because I called into Visa and asked them if they were in the habit of lowering interest rates. Of course, they said no... and that I was right.... that if they DID offer me something, it would have come as an insert with my statement in the mail. This time when this bunch of scam artists called me I told them I was calling the police. They hung up pretty quick. If they do call back again after that, you can bet I will call the police. DO NOT give these crooks ANY information about your financial/private business. This sort of thing is what feeds identity theft.

I had a similar experience today where after confirming my age and that I am not married, was solicited for a relationship. DISGUSTING. He escalated quickly and would not give me the name of the company or let me speak with someone else. I registered a complaint with the CRTC and am possibly going to go to the local RCMP station and see if this is grounds for harassment. They won't stop calling. Option 2 is not valid for me either.

This number calls my house several times a week. I found it strange when they called twice on Dec. 26 which is a holiday in Nova Scotia. I answered and pressed 1. A man answered with a foreign accent. I asked to be removed from their call list. He then proceeded to ask if I wanted to have sex with him. I didn't think I heard him right but he then went on to say even more graphic sexual stuff. It is obvious this is not a legit company and I'm concerned for people like seniors who might give them their credit card or bank information.

1-647-898-8827 - the usual, brain-dead credit card interest rate reduction scam "boiler room" call. Press 2 function never works; press 1 to speak to live agent. Gave fictitious info, was passed to a more "officious" sounding agent with SE Asian accent and promptly told him to 'eff off.' Call terminated at his end.

This idiot is either working from a call list supplied by his company, or he's pulling numbers right out of the phone directory. I suspect he doesn't even know the full details of this scam. If he's just a minimum wage phone monkey, he works by volume, providing 1st tier contacts for someone else to close.

Every time he phones, I try to get him to talk a while. Then I start singing "In the jungle, the mighty jungle" really softly until he asks me a question. I just keep singing until he hangs up.

If everyone could join in, that would be swell. I don't think he likes his job very much, and I believe is possible to annoy telemarketers that ignore the DNC list until they make sure your number never gets called again.

Who are these cockroaches and how is this legal. These people are fishing. Why are they allowed to call me but I am unable to call them back. Shady practice enabled by weak laws.

A recording offering to reduce my credit cart interest rate. We press 2 each time to get removed from the calling list but it'doesn't work. This time I blocked the number. Hopefully that will work.

Answered and said hello but there was nobody, and no message there. Hung up.

The internet says its a prof from Toronto.

Thursday, December 11th 6:32 pm
yup, spam. Doing a "let us reduce your interest rate on your credit card" spiel.

I received a call from this number, it was a recording about lowering credit card rates. It went on the say press 1 to speak to someone about lowering rates, and press 2 to stop receiving their "notifications". I pressed 2 and it said it was an invalid response. So I pressed 1 and a man answered. He asked how I was and I said good and started a pleasant conversation. I said, the recording indicates I can press 2 to stop receiving these calls but it doesn't work and we'd like to be removed from your list. He interrupted me saying what do you want, why are you calling me to tell me this. I said I didn't call, I just want to be removed because the option doesn't work. He kept yelling over me that I called him in his office to tell him stuff that doesn't make sense. I told him to listen and quit being a ***** for a second. He said go f?$!k yourself. And kept yelling similar stuff so I hung up.
