This was a scammer pretending to be from DISH satellite company. He said his name was Matthew & that this number was his direct line. He said DISH was calling to schedule a service person to come out & replace obsolete equipment. There would be a fee for the service call and a security deposit on the equipment, but the deposit would be returned in two years and I would get a lower monthly rate for three years. He asked for my personal security code or birth date + last four digits of my SSN. Caller ID showed that the call was from DISH at their published phone number. I emailed DISH afterward & found out they had not called, would not ask for personal info by phone, and had no one scheduled to do a service call for me. They also said they have had this problem reported nationwide & their fraud department is working on it. The DISH Fraud Prevention Team # is 1-866-310-8052. If you get this call, hang up and report it to DISH. Also, today Century Link told me there is such a thing as "caller ID switching" --who knew! Be careful, everyone!
