yesterday, I received a call spoofing the social security customer service number 800-772-1213 and the male on phone definitely rude and foreign wanted me to provide my mailing address, ss#, etc in order to verify which I refused to do so he said I wasn't the right person and hung up. I reported them to fraud at OIG. Today I received a call from Sacramento Ca 916-273-8809. Again, recording that my social security number was in fraud use and canceled. I spoke with a male who said my phone # was wrong and hung up. Obviously not our government calling but some one trying to get my personal Info. Did I mention they ask for me by a name I haven't used in two decades and don't even know what state I reside in? Be wary. These are scammers trying to get and use personal info to lift your identity.
