I placed a SALE offer on Craig's List & requested that interested buyers contact me via the email listed on the listing or by phoning me directly. Someone text me from this (apparent LANDLINE) and asked that I communicate with them via an email address ([email protected]). I took a chance and responded to what I thought was a genuine buyer. The email I received in return was a woman whom offered to send me a "Certified Check" in the amount I requested for purchase of my item PLUS an additional $50; however she went on to say that she had such a busy schedule that she could not physically come see the item but that she was requesting my Name, address, phone number, etc. She advised her husband would obtain and mail the CERTIFIED CHECK from his business and when I received the check, I should cash it. "When the funds cleared" I was asked to contact her again via that email address and she would "make arrangements" for some unnamed person to come and pick up the item. My initial reaction was "okay, maybe this is legit"; however, after reading the many warnings on Craig's List itself advising potential sellers of all the outright SCAM ARTISTS and their false intentions, I kindly emailed this woman back and simply asked her to identify herself, asked WHY she wanted to pay $50 more than the asking price and WHOM it was she had in mind that would pick up this item. She emailed me back, did not answer my questions, again asked me for all of MY personal information and said she was prepared to make this an overnight process. I emailed her one last time and basically told her IF HER INTENTIONS WERE GENUINE, that could at least contact me DIRECTLY VIA TELEPHONE and allow me the opportunity to speak to her - a live person - and I then mentioned that I would not continue to email her, nor would I execute any sort of deal with her. The name on her email was Rosana Ernesto - and SHOCKINGLY - I never heard from her again. WARNING - SHE IS AN OBVIOUS SCAM ARTIST!!!
