The caller asked for my specific name, but he thought he was calling a completely different company from where I actually work/answered the phone. Weird that he should have my exact name.

yes, they asked if my number was to a medical clinic in Florida. I have been getting so many calls from the 940 area code ever since I went on line and tried to get a quote on healthcare but you can't because every freakin person starts to call and call you and call you! One time one of them called me 7 times in 1 afternoon. Then you call back the 940 number and it's not in service. WTH! I block them but they always seem to call me from another 940 #.
Just stop already!

Foreigner calls and asks for someone and even when you say that you are them they ask again and say I am sorry can you hear me>? wanting you to say YES and then say are you so and so with xx random company to get your info.

I called back and someone answered. He refused to say what company . He got rude and hung up. I called back and they answered it was a collection agency.
Rude rude rude people they call 3x plus a day.

The scam goes something like this: This is Officer Steve Martin. This is the second attempt to call back from the US Treasury. To avoid initial appearance before a magistrate judge or a Grand Jury for a Federal Criminal offense. I advise you to cooperate to help us so we can help you at 940 205 4499.
This guy Steve, became Officer Michael Brown on the phone. He kept threatening me that if I do not comply, they will issue a warrant for my arrest and the police will come and arrest me in 45 mins. He even gave me his officer ID number and my case ID number for my tax invasion in 2013. He said that if I have someone else file for me, they may had used my information as well.
I looked up the number on Google really quick and saw this! I called the local police to report this as well. Tried to get a hold of IRS but was unsuccessful.

Yup same idiot called me at 9:29am today. Really tired of him, this is the third call he seems to move around a lot. One was from California then New Jersey now Texas. Said the same thing on my answering machine as the other comments. Hate these people they need to get a life.

Have been receiving calls from this company repeatedly but ignore and the answering machine picks them up. Now today "Steve Martin" called at 6:30 AM Who's awake at the IRS or US Treasury at 6:30 AM?

AM Steve Martin called this morning at 6:30 am!!! He has been calling repeatedly and leaving messages on the answering machine which I ignore but did answer this am at that hour on an unlisted do not call number because I thought something was wrong. No one calls me at 6:30 am. I will calla the police and report it later this morning when they are answering non emergency calls.

I was told that I owed $5000 to the IRS and that an IRS investigator would be at my home in 45 minutes to arrest me and put me in prison for 6 months.
If I couldn't pay the full amount, the caller would ask her supervisor if I gave them my bank account numbers they would see what they could do..

"Steve" called (5:52 PM) about Treasury action (same AS 11:56 AM).
I called back and Steve wasn't available. Informed the gal, bi-lingual I think, that an FBI drone was coming overhead and would shut them down in 15 minutes!

Received a call from someone who obviously doesn't speak English as a first language. Same sham as reported by the other folks who commented. So I called him back and asked for Special Agent Alex Smith. The person on the other end said he was Alex Smith. I then said " Can't you dummies run a better scam than this? I made up the name and you indicate it's your name." He laughed. At least he had a sense of humor. This number is now blocked on my line.

Steve called Arlington, TX today. Same message left on my answering machine as the one received in Richmond, Va above. "This is the second attempt to call back from the US Treasury. Steve Martin, certainly not the comedian, called with the same IRS scam language. I did not call back but I did call the local police department and was told that I was the 6th caller in the last 1/2 hour to call the police about the calls and messages. Officer said it seemed like the scammers were very busy this morning in northern NJ.

This person states Irs tax you will be arrested in 45 minutes after i spoke with them they continuously hang up someone needs to report them to the irs. in fact i will call them shorly
