I received a voicemail from the same number from a gentleman with a very thick accent saying he needed to verify employment and gave me a reference #877875. I have not returned the call, just looked it up on the web. After reading the report from Oct. 17th, I think that person shouldn't have given Any information at all! So...are they a tax company, employment verification or loan officers??? Smells like a scam to me!

I met a man on Plenty of Fish. He proceeded to romance me and make all kinds of promises. I was suspicious of him almost from the beginning but I played along wondering where it was going to lead. He claimed to go to Malaysia as a oil rig engineer. While there he gave me this ridiculous story about an explosion that injured 4 of his co-workers and he needed me to open an online bank account as his wife so he could deposit money in it to cover damages during the explosion. It didn't take me long to accuse him of being a "catfish" and sever all ties with him.

I received a call from this number and they left me a voicemail requesting me to call them back with a reference number regarding a loan I just applied for, but they claimed that the company they were calling from was Veritax. When I called back and gave them the reference number, they knew my name and said they needed to verify my employment with my employer and asked with the correct employer name if I worked for them and I said yes. They then asked for a work phone number and I told them I already gave the bank my employerââ¬â¢s correct phone number. They said that no phone number was transferred to them, which I thought was odd because the bank repeated my work phone number to me and was correct. I gave them the phone number (which is public anyway). They then asked me for a contact there and I gave the name of my HR manager. Iââ¬â¢m not sure whether or not this was legitimate, especially considering the name of the company listed was not the same as the company they said they were (Veritax).

This gentleman contacted me from a dating website.
There were too many discrepancies with his story, his manner of speaking and his use of endearments, however I gave him the benefit of the doubt.
He sent photos but it all seemed to good to be true. :)
It took about two weeks of "chatting" then he today requested me to urgently order him an iTunes or Amazon Card. NOT!!!!!
That is what I was waiting for... scammer.
Be careful ladies, there are loads of them out there.
