I have a Samsung Galaxy S-2 on sale on craigslist for $75.00. Got a text saying they wanted to buy the phone but would have to pay by Money Order and would pay an additional $25.00 to hold. Wanted me to provide my name and address to mail the money order to. No Money Order arrives, usually a Company Check. I have received this offer about (15) times..NO JOKE. Again what actually arrives is a Company Check for $1000 more than you ask. You get an immediate text from the buyer claiming an error was made by his assistant but to go ahead and cash the check, take out your asking price plus an extra $50.00 for the error and wire him the $875. NO JOKE...I have sold many items on craigslist and the identical Scam shows up about once a month. After I got tired of collecting fake checks(funds are easy to verify and the banks that it is written on are happy to tell you that the account is fake), I now just text them back with a mild profanity laced text telling them exactly what is about to take place and suggest that they update their scam. If you accept the fake check and do not respond, usually a threatening text or phone call comes always saying.."Hey whats going on with MY MONEY?" It is always a guy with a thick African accent. When you let them know that you know it is a scam, they immediately hang up. Have some fun with the scammers.
